This species of Dolly Ant has been found in southern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia.

It is found in a wide range of forest habitats, including pine plantations. Worker ants search for food on the ground, fallen logs and on tree trunks. The species makes its nests in rotten branches, logs and stumps on the ground, under bark and in soil under rocks.
