Double-spotted Cicada, Spotted Wattle Cicada

Conservation status: Least Concern


This species has been found in the eastern areas of southern Queensland, New South Wales and northern Victoria.

Galanga labeculata can be quite variable in colour, ranging from almost black to an orange-brown. As its common name suggests, it has a distinctive "double spot" on its forewings. Adult cicadas are usually found on wattles, hence their other common name of Spotted Wattle Cicada.
