Austrogomphus praeruptus

Conservation status: Least Concern

Austrogomphus praeruptus is also known as Austrogomphus melaleucae. Until recently, they were considered two separate species. There is still some ongoing confusion about the taxonomy of the species.

It is a slow flying, medium-size dragonfly with a wingspan of up to 60 mm. Colour is black with yellow markings and it has clear wings. Its green eyes are widely separated.
