Brotherhood

While the legend of the Goebel brothers remains, it was a repeat event when twin brothers Ian and Glen Elms were employed to replace Bill (Ian) and later Hock (Glen). The Elms brothers worked side-by-side for nine years and were instrumental in many of the pest management programs that continue to this day.

Ian's bush skills and wealth of local knowledge have helped him successfully keep feral pig, goat and deer populations in both Girraween and neighbouring Sundown National Park at bay. So too, his knowledge of the Girraween landscape, and fire trail and walking tracks system (of which he has been instrumental in developing and maintaining) is extensive and an asset to the team.
