Veronica arenaria
Speedwell

Conservation status: Least Concern

Flowering:  Spring to Autumn
Flowers:Star-shaped with four petals, two stamen with white anthers. May vary in colour from pale violet-blue to deep violet-blue.
Plant:Small, multiple-stemmed shrub. Stems are usually upright, 30 to 100 cm long. Light green leaves are linear and may be lobed.
Habitat:Grows in sandy soils.

There is some confusion as to the name and family of this plant. As a result, it is sometimes known as Derwentia arenaria or it may be classified in the family Plantaginaceae. This website uses the current nomenclature accepted by the Queensland Herbarium.
