Arachnids

Scorpions
Scorpions have a two-part body and the tail has six segments. Some adult scorpions glow when exposed to ultraviolet light.
 


Spiders
All spiders have eight legs and they have a two-part body (cephalothorax and abdomen). Spiders can be found on every continent except Antarctica.
 


Ticks and Mites
Ticks and mites both belong in the subclass Acarina. There are 75 described species of tick in Australia and 2,620 species of mite!
