Conservation status: ?
Beetles of the Amarygmus genus can be found all over Australia. They are often brightly coloured and hide away during the daytime, usually under bark. They come out at night to feed. The larvae live in decaying wood. This particular beetle was found in Girraween, hiding under a dead log, on granite.
