Conservation status: Least Concern
This is a fairly large (20mm) ground-dwelling weevil that has adapted to living in dry regions. These weevils are mainly terrestrial, of large size, and often with distinctive spines or other ornamentation. They have a very tough exoskeleton - one of the hardest of any beetle. It is so tough that they often remain for years after the beetle has died.
