Eastern Swamp Emerald

Conservation status: Least Concern


This species has been found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. It lives by rivers, riverine pools, lakes and ponds.

It is a black and yellow-orange-brown coloured dragonfly with two metallic green stripes on the sides of its thorax. It has a fairly stout body.

There are two species of Procordulia in Australia. The other species, Procordulia affinis the Western Swamp Emerald, has only been found in southern Western Australia.
