Lizards

Dragons
Dragon lizards belong to the family Agamidae. About 70 species live in Australia.
 


Geckos
Geckos belong to the family Gekkonidae. Nearly all geckos don't have eyelids and they have to lick their eyes to keep them clean.
 


Monitors
Monitors, or goannas, belong to the family Varanidae. Most monitor lizards are carnivorous.
 


Skinks
Skinks belong to the family Scincidae, which is the largest of the lizard families with about 1,200 species.
 


Snake Lizards
Also known as Legless or Flapfooted Lizards, these lizards have either no legs at all or legs too small to be used for walking.
