A Globe Pea

Flowering:  Spring
Flowers:A typical "pea". Colours are yellow, orange and red. The flowers of some plants are deeper in colour than others.

Plant:A small, rush-like shrub usually less than 50 cm high with often a single long stem. It loses its leaves before flowering.
Note:This plant was thought, until recently, to be Sphaerolobium minus. Future investigation by botanists of the Qld Herbarium will determine if it is an unsual form, a subspecies or a new species altogether.
