These fungi are not necessarily related to each other, but have been grouped together for study because their fruiting bodies share a similar shape.
Coral fungi have erect, club-shaped or branched (coral-like) fruiting bodies. They may be just a simple spike, or be a mass of intricate branches with tiny spines. Colours range from red, pink, orange, yellow, blue, purple, brown, grey and white. These beautiful fungi usually grow on the ground or decaying wood.
