Girraween's Lichens

Lichens are widespread throughout Girraween and may be easily found growing on exposed rock or on the shaded trunks of forest trees.

Some lichens are flat and look like splotches of paint - "crustose". Others look leafy - "foliose ", while others still look like tiny plants - "fruticose".
